It’s Okay To Not Want To

It’s okay to not want to.

We understand,

We know.

You’ve tried to do your very best,

Oft times you’ve written from the heart,

Again you find you’re at the start,

It’s all just been a test.

You tell yourself it’s how you’ll grow,

And write another story.

It’s what you do,

It’s part of you,

You write to create glory.

We’ve all been there, and yes we know,

You really want to rest.

It’s okay to not want to,

We understand,

We know.

You’ve never spent one moment free,

From crafting words so faithfully.

You’ve written things you hope will win,

Anxiety reigns, then shame sets in.

Your better’s never best.

It’s okay to not want to,

Write any words again.

We’ve all been there,

We’ve suffered our share,

Of misery and true pain.

We understand,

We really do,

We don’t say this in jest.

It’s okay to not want to,

and yet you’ll write we say.

The spark inside you ‘neath your rage,

Results in words upon the page,

Your words we know will find their way.

Because you know,

You write to grow,

Tomorrow you can rest.
